Description |
Arizona sales tax token which were used to make change when the sales tax was a fraction of a cent. Rounding of the tax was apparently not allowed. This token is for one mill which is one tenth of a cent. Arizona sales tax tokens was authorized by Chapter 77 Laws of 1935 and in 1954 the Arizona tax statues were recodified and the portion dealing with tokens was dropped. Token was discovered in backyard of 10052 W Peoria Avenue. Some tokens are displayed at the Capitol museum. |
